David Banes Access and Inclusion Services

Accessibility statement

Access and inclusion should be reflected in how this website works as well as in what it says.

Our commitment

We aim to make this website usable by as many people as possible and to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.

What you should be able to do

  • navigate the site using a keyboard;
  • zoom and resize text without losing content or functionality;
  • use screen readers and other assistive technologies with meaningful structure;
  • understand links and controls from their labels;
  • access information without relying on colour, sound or images alone; and
  • reduce motion where your device preferences request it.

Known limitations

This is a newly rebuilt website. External resources and legacy pages linked from this site are not necessarily under our technical control and may not meet the same accessibility standard.

Reporting a problem

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, email david@davebanesaccess.org. Please include the page, the problem you experienced and, where useful, the browser or assistive technology you were using.

Technical approach

The site uses semantic HTML, keyboard-operable navigation, visible focus states, responsive reflow, reduced-motion support, descriptive page titles, labelled form controls and colour combinations selected for strong contrast.

Conformance status

Before publishing a formal claim of WCAG 2.2 AA conformance, the deployed website should undergo automated and manual accessibility testing. Until that audit is complete, this statement describes the intended standard rather than asserting verified full conformance.
